REQUIREMENTS TO JOIN:
You must be 'hand-picked' by a member of the "Regents of Yarre" to join the Black Shield.� You may volunteer your services, or the (DB) leader can approach you.� But only that leader can select you to serve as their personal protector.

BE FOREWARNED:
Truth is the only way of the warrior.� Black Shield is about honour. � You are expected to abide by DB law 100%.� You are expected to represent DB favorably to all that are in and out of the clan.� You are expected to defend your liege's honour AND that of the clan whenever a snide remark is made.� And should your 'charge' fall in battle, they can choose to exile you from the branch for failure to perfom thy duties.� The Black Shield offers much prestige to a dedicated brother, but take heed of the risks, for they are great.

Order of the Black Shield

DUTIES:� Each member of the order is assigned to protect "1" member of DB's "Regents of Yarre" branch.� The protection is in-game as well as verbally in channels.� Black Shield members must be willing to sacrifice themselves to ensure the safety of their 'charge.'� Black Shield members live to serve the honour of their liege.

PRIVILEGES: As Follows:
--May attend DB Council of Shade meetings "IF" the leader they protect is present there.
--Answer ONLY to Avengelyne/Phlegethonyarre and higher ranking members in the order.
--Have priority access to the weaponry and armor in DB's treasury.
--Are entrusted to carry important and confidential information between leaders.
--If selected for this branch, and you are of "Mortal" status, you are made "Undead" by the power of the leader that selected you.

RANKS:� The Black Shield has 8 individual ranks.� Each rank is based upon the rank of the 'Leader' that a Black Shield Member protects.� For example, a protector of the DemonLord (Dessicator) is higher in rank than a protector of an Emperor (Parson) because the DemonLord is higher in rank than the emperor.

If the 'Leader' that a Black Shield member protects is promoted, the Black Shield member is promoted within this branch.� So if an emperor is promoted to ShadowLord, the emperor's protector (Parson) is automatically promoted to (Navky).� Likewise, if a leader is 'demoted' then so is the black shield member.

The higher ranked Black Shield members are responsible to ensure that those new to the Order, and the lower ranks maintain the honour and integrity of this branch.
