���� Although their duties are diverse, as a member of
the Order of the Black Shield, your duty is to safeguard the life of your 'charge.' �
That is, each member of the Order pledges his/her life to a member of the high leadership.
���� To this end, a member of the Order must protect their charge from
monsters and PK's/PKK's during game-play, as well as protect them from verbal insult
(during or out of game.)� If someone insults an Order member's 'charge', the
protector must challenge that person to a duel immediately, and kill them if possible,
presenting the ear to his/her liege as a trophy.
���� The Order of the Black Shield carries with it certain advantages.
� Members may accompany their 'charge' to Council meetings (assuming the person they
protect is of the council) and also has first access to all weaponry in the Dark
Brotherhood treasury.� Black Shield members also have the advantage of being in close
with the high leadership, allowing them to foster connections in the clan, should they
later wish to become leaders themselves.
���� The Order of the Black Shield represents DB's finest fighters and
warriors, as well as the most diligent of clan defenders.� There are two divisions to
the Order.
Abyssal Guardians -- Protect members of the Council of Shade.� There may be
"2" Abyssal Guardians protecting each Council member.
Ebon Protectors -- Protect Legion Commanders.� There may be "1"
Ebon Protector per Legion Commander.
